Adult Forum: Institutional Development Before Constantine ~ History is not merely a matter of great people and the struggle of big ideas, it involves social structure and social dynamics. We will investigate the social structures and dynamics of the 2nd and 3rd centuries and take a close look at the three dimensions of Christianity’s institutional development; its growth in space and numbers, its elaboration of worship and leadership, and its hierarchical structure. Join us in Saint Mary’s Chapel following the 8:00 a.m. service as we follow the story beyond the Sunday school teachings of your childhood.

Spread Christmas Cheer to Bester School!  Bester’s elves have assembled the list of children in need of a St. John’s Santa.  By now we hope that you have your list and are hard at work to make this the merriest Christmas ever for all the children. When you finish your shopping, please wrap the shoebox and tape your card with the age and gender of the child on the box. Please DON’T FORGET to mark the date you returned the box on our list. This allows us to take inventory so we can ensure that no child is overlooked by Santa. We ask that all boxes be returned by Sunday DECEMBER 8 to give us time to organize everything and get it to Bester before Christmas vacation. Thank you is such a simple thing to say, but we want you to know that this means so much to the children. Thank you for brightening a child’s Christmas and for all the many things you do to help our community! God bless us everyone, as Tiny Tim always said.
