Service and Outreach Basket Bingo: Don't forget to get your ticket for the Service and Outreach Commission's 3rd annual Basket Bingo, scheduled for Friday, October 19 in Trimble Hall. A lasagna dinner will be served at 6 PM followed by multiple bingo games beginning at 6:30 PM. Tickets are on sale at the Antietam Street entrance each Sunday.  The cost is $25.00.  The minimum value of the baskets is $20. You can't come??? Well...…. how about donating a basket???  If you have questions, please see Cathy Bushey. All proceeds from Basket Bingo support SOC's Bountiful Blessings table of personal hygiene items offered at each Community Café. Your support is needed for this wonderful ministry. Please mark your calendar and  buy a ticket for yourself and a friend!!!  

Quiet Day ~ Learning From the Saints: The Daughters of the King will host a Quiet Day for the whole parish and any interested individuals on Saturday, Nov. 3rd from 10-3 in Saint Mary's Chapel. Fr. Todd will lead a series of meditations which will end with Holy Eucharist. Everyone is invited.  A continental breakfast will be offered.  Bring a bag lunch.   Hope to see you there!

Saint John’s Shelter: Saint John’s Shelter is collecting donations to give each family at the shelter a $50.00 gift card for Thanksgiving. If you would like to donate please make checks payable to Saint John’s Shelter noting in the memo section “Thanksgiving”. Bester School Needs: Bester Elementary School is back in session and so is the need for new underwear for its youngest students. The school and its needy families greatly appreciate our donations.  Sizes needed are: 4, 6, and 8 for both boys and girls.  Please contact Lou Lamb or call her at 301-437-5704.

Van Drivers and/or Supervisor: We are in need a a van drivers and/or a Supervisor. This ministry provides transportation to who cannot get to Saint John’s without assistance. If you are interested or have any questions please contact Bob Speelman at 540-247-2482.

Holiday Participation Scheduling: As the holidays are quickly approaching and scheduling for the next three months (November, December and January) will take place during October; now is the time to include those dates you will not be available to serve as well as the services and times you will be available.  All you have to do is sign in to the MSP program and click on the “My Profile” tab. Then move to the second block labeled “Ministries & Scheduling”, “Service preferences” and click on “Add” button. Then select the service(s) and time you plan to attend from the list.  You may add multiple services. Make sure to click the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page once you are finished.  If you need assistance or forgot your password you may contact Melonie at the church office.

Thanksgiving Pies: Back by popular demand: Thanksgiving Pies!!! The Service and Outreach Commission will be selling pies for Thanksgiving during the month of November with availability for pick up on Tuesday and Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving Day. We will be offering the following: Apple, Apple-Cranberry-Walnut, Pumpkin, Cherry, Mincemeat, and Pecan-Cheesecake Pies. But there's more: This year we will be offering Gerrie Mangum's award-winning Lemon Cheesecake. Trust us: Martha Stewart, Rachel Ray, Emeril, Wolfgang Puck have nothing on Gerrie's delectable Lemon Cheesecake.  It's the best!  Stay tuned for information on sale dates and times.  As always, SOC thanks you for your support!!!

      *Other types of Soups are okay

2 - Boxes of Juice – Must be 100% Juice

1 - Can of Tuna

1 - Can of Chef Boyardee

       *Spaghetti and Meatballs or Ravioli

1 - 24 oz. Can of Apple Sauce

1 - Packet of Instant Oatmeal

2 - Types of Cracker Packets

       *Peanut Butter and Crackers work well

1 - Individually Wrapped PopTart

      *Make sure a box of PopTarts is individually wrapped
