Second Sunday after Epiphany

Adult Forum: Even if you missed last week you don’t want to miss “Adam and Eve” as Dr. Levine takes us through our “origin stories.”  Which came first, Genesis 1 or Genesis 2?  Was Eve really the first woman, or was it Lilith from Hebrew myth?  How does God change?  Next week, “Murder, Flood, Dispersion” – don’t miss it.  Today at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Chapel.

Giving Envelopes for 2018: New giving envelopes are available at the back of the church.  Use of these envelopes and numbers are helpful to the counters as well as record keeping and contribution statements.  If you are not listed and would like envelopes, please contact the office.

The Reach Cold Weather Shelter: The Reach Cold Weather signs ups have started.  Linda and Missy will be at the Antietam Street entrance each week to help you choose what best suits your schedule.  Lots of tasks are available for just an hour or two or more.  Please sign up and help the people of the shelter have many great meals and fantastic volunteers to visit with.  Thank you.

Got the winter blues??? Well Jazz it up with Party on Prospect III to be held on Friday evening, February 2.  You will be entertained by the jazz of Dr. Mark Cook and band from 6:30 to 9:00 with sumptuous fare and beer/wine. Cost: $35 per person with all proceeds going to Service and Outreach Commission projects. Tickets will be sold at the Antietam Street entrance. See you there!!!

Souper Bowl of Caring: The teens of Saint John’s will once again join young people across the country in the Souper Bowl of Caring fund drive. Please place either a can of kid-friendly soup with a pull-top lid or one dollar to be donated to the Micah's Backpack program in our big soup can, starting on Sunday, January 21st.  The Youth Group will tally the final results on Super Bowl Sunday, February 4th.

Special Services: Please update your MSP profile under “Ministries and Scheduling” to include all special services you will be attending during the upcoming Lenten and Easter Season. If you have any questions or need assistance please contact Melonie.
