The Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany

No Children’s Chapel on February 4th: In order to let the parents and youth choirs participate fully in Youth Led Sunday, there will be no Children’s Chapel or Little Episcopals on Sunday, February 4th.  The Nursery will still be staffed and attended for children under 2 years old.

Altar Guild Training will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 8:30 a.m. in the nave.

Adult Forum: Because the patriarchal stories concern morality, responsibility and faith, more than just historical approaches are necessary to their understanding.  Theological, ethical and literary questions enter the discussion. ”Biblical Archaeology?” “American School?” “German School?” We will discuss them all.  Today at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Chapel.  Next week, “Isaac,” ‘One of the best short stories ever written,” says Dr. Levine.

Got the winter blues??? Well Jazz it up with Party on Prospect III to be held on Friday evening, February 2.  You will be entertained by the jazz of Dr. Mark Cook and band from 6:30 to 9:00 with sumptuous fare and beer/wine. Cost: $35 per person with all proceeds going to Service and Outreach Commission projects. Tickets will be sold at the Antietam Street entrance. See you there!!!

Souper Bowl of Caring:The teens of Saint John’s will once again join young people across the country in the Souper Bowl of Caring fund drive. Please place either a can of kid-friendly soup with a pull-top lid or one dollar to be donated to the Micah's Backpack program in our big soup can, starting today. The Youth Group will tally the final results on Super Bowl Sunday, February 4th.
Dessert Auction: The J2A group is hosting a dessert auction after the 10:15 service on February 4.  Come get those last minute goodies before Lent or that needed treat for the Super Bowl party.
