Parish Picnic – Our Parish Picnic will be held today at the Lietersburg Ruritan Park following the 10:15 service in the Park. Fried chicken and drinks will be provided by Parish Life
Organ Recital by Mark King, this coming Friday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m. as part of the Music at Saint John’s Series. Program will include repertoire by American contemporary composer. Craig Phillips; German Baroque composers Georg Philipp Telemann and Johann Sebastian Bach; English/American jazz composer, George Shearing; American ragtime composer, Scott Joplin; French Romantic composer, Alexandre Guilmant. In commemoration of the 500th year anniversary of the Reformation, hymn texts and tunes of Martin Luther will be featured, including settings by German Renaissance composer, Michael Praetorius; German Baroque composer, Dietrich Buxtehude; German Romantic composer, Max Reger; and German Contemporary composer, Ernest Pepping. A reception will follow the program. Be sure to invite family, friends and neighbors to attend with you.
The Service and Outreach Commission would like to sincerely "THANK YOU" for your contributions to the Bountiful Blessings Box in Trimble Hall. Additional donations are needed. Please contribute to our supply of toiletries, soap, shampoo, feminine hygiene products and toilet paper. These items are made available to consumers at the monthly Community Cafe. Thank you for your continued support of this outreach endeavor!
Calling All Graduates: We at Saint John’s would like to recognize all of our parishioners graduating from high school or college as well as those who will be graduating from elementary or middle school. We would like to have you send us a picture to place on the Antietam Street bulletin board along with a paragraph of your future plans, awards you have received, or goals you have set for the coming years. We would like to recognize you in the July issue of Soundings. You may send it to the church office or you may e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. We will need it by June 10th in order to meet the July Soundings deadline. Pictures will be returned.

Eid Celebration: Our friends at the Islamic Center of Western Maryland have invited us to celebrate the end of Ramadan with them on Sunday, June 25th from 9:30 to 11:30 am at Hagers Hall in Hagerstown. Talk to Margaret Clinch for more details.
Vacation Bible School: St. John's Parish will offer Vacation Bible School this summer from Sunday, July 16 through Wednesday, July 19.

Nursery Volunteers Needed! – We are seeking adults and teens to help in the nursery with infants through 4 year-olds. If you are willing to help with this ministry once a month, please contact Margaret Clinch at email@example.com or 301-733-2560.
